Celebrate your Civil Union or Commitment Ceremony with Circles Celebrancy
The desire to participate in ceremony and celebration is an intrinsic part of human nature adding richness and vibrancy to our lives as we mark personal and family milestones of joy, sadness, transition and renewal. It is within these personal and heartfelt ceremonies that we create symbolism and speak words which can have a power beyond our imagining.
My name is Glenda Haines and as a registered celebrant it is my role to work with you to create and perform ceremonies that are unique, memorable and meaningful.
As a member of the Celebrants Association of New Zealand (Inc) I adhere to the association’s Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics and high professional standards. I have also completed the Certificate in Celebrant Studies through Auckland University of Technology (AUT).
Civil unions and commitments are an expression of the natural desire in all of us to love and be loved and to want to share the happiness and delight we find in our partner with our families and friends. It is a time for giving voice to our deepest feelings and for inviting those we care for to witness and respect the promises we make to each other.
The naming and welcoming of a child into the family with a joyous and festive celebration is a wonderful opportunity to reaffirm the unity of the family and the importance of all its members. Name givings allow us to use music, poems, prayers, feasting and gift giving to embrace a new life and strengthen our sense of contributing to the well being and happiness of a much-loved child.
Whether you’re celebrating a civil union, welcoming a new child into your family or making a commitment to your life partner we will design together a ceremony that reflects your individuality and honours your wishes.
Regardless of the style of ceremony you have, be it a civil union, commitment ceremony or name giving, the time taken to talk together, to reflect, to plan and to create is vital in ensuring that your day is all you want it to be.
Generally we have at least two meetings lasting a minimum of an hour; initially to talk about what you want and then to plan specific details. Where appropriate I also recommend a rehearsal or walk through at the venue in the week before the ceremony.
The charge for all ceremonies is $400. This includes the cost of all meetings, planning, rehearsal, the ceremony itself, a full record of the ceremony and a personalised certificate.
Travel costs are inclusive for ceremonies in the Auckland metropolitan area. Outside of this area travel costs are generally charged at $30 per hour of driving time in addition to the ceremony cost.
I invite you to explore the Circles Celebrancy website and to contact me when you’re ready to discuss your special celebration.
